My initial idea for a service is this:
My iphone is wirelessly connected to our service so that:
1. There is a constant stream of fresh articles available for me.
2. These articles are sent to me because they’re the sort of things I’ve indicated that I’m interested in eg Film directing, physical fitness, celiac disease, teaching
3. in essence it’s like the scrobbler on last.fm ie I input the things that I like – books, films, directors, music, TV programmes etc – OMG – the brain of this device watches everything I search for on youtube and facebook and google etc, so it understands what my interests are, and offers me more of the same, but different in that it does the Amazon recommender “If you liked that you’ll love this”, or “customers who bought that also bought this.” See?
4. so it’s largely about the search software which brings in all my online search criteria, remembers what I actually watched/listened to, streamlines and gives me more of the same.
5. in a world where people are drowning in information, where knowledge is power, and new information gives us the cutting edge, what would it be like to have a daily personalised magazine, tailored specifically for your own needs and preferences?
